Literacy

There is no more important task in the primary grades than to teach children to read. It is well documented that children who lack the skills to do so struggle in school and through life. The Enlighten Academy Charter School literacy model includes a core curriculum and interventions with demonstrated results. Our staffing model and small class size are also factors that lead to success. We monitor student progress regularly to ensure that no child falls behind.

Each of our young learners will have a personalized learning plan that is unique to them and changes frequently based on data, to ensure the needs of each child are met. Families are a critical component of early reading success. We communicate frequently with them and provide on-going opportunities for authentic parent involvement surrounding literacy. Enlighten Academy Charter School also provides resources and support for learning at home.
